Your Guide to Housing Eligibility

Using this guide

This guide is about ‘eligibility’, not ‘suitability’. For example, if you are a person with very high care needs, you may be eligible to apply for a private rental property or a rooming house, but these types of housing may not be suitable or the right place for you.

In Victoria, the types of housing you are eligible for (can apply for) depend on your individual situation. Other states have different eligibility, so this guide is just about Victoria so far. We aim to update this guide as The Housing Hub expands to other states.

This guide gives you an idea of what’s out there, but it does not have all the housing options. You can use the resources on this website to explore other options, or you can talk to your support coordinator or tenancy support worker to research opportunities.
