Staff at our SIL’s adopt a strength-based and recovery-oriented approach to supporting people to achieve their individual goals.
As a resident of one of our SIL’s you will be supported to learn skills and cultivate strategies to successfully engage in activities of daily living. Our ultimate goal is to support you to develop your capacity to live independently. Support is person-centred and based around achieving the goals within your NDIS Plan/SIL Quote. Additionally, group supports are offered to increase community participation as well as enable a more collaborative and social approach to developing your ability to navigate independent living. Staff will further support you to connect with family, friends, groups, activities and other support providers within the wider community.
This residence, available to people aged 18-64 years, is a beautiful Victorian building on an extensive garden block, complete with a vegetable garden and chickens. It is located in Armadale and is close to High St shops and public transport. It's a large double story house with 14 separate bedrooms and communal living spaces, including a large lounge room, large kitchen and smaller adjoining kitchen, large dining area and laundry. Five of the 14 bedrooms are downstairs, the rest are all located upstairs. Upstairs, there is also a small communal relaxation room, a large bathroom with showers and a toilet and an additional toilet facility. Downstairs there is an art room, a small phone room with a resident landline phone, two bathrooms and two separate toilets. The staff office area is located in a separate building a short walking distance to the house.
